Typeless vs SpeechBee
Both turn your voice into text in any app. Typeless sends it to the cloud and has AI rewrite it into polished writing. SpeechBee keeps it on your device, cleans it up, and can read text back to you. Which one fits depends on whether you want your words improved or kept.

The real difference: rewriting versus transcribing
Typeless is built to make you sound better than you spoke. It drops the "um"s, notices when you change your mind halfway through a sentence and keeps only the final version, turns spoken lists into formatted ones, and learns your writing style. You can give each app its own tone, so Slack gets casual and email gets formal. Say "make this shorter" with text selected and it rewrites it.
SpeechBee writes what you said. It removes filler words before the text lands, and "new paragraph" or "period" format as you go, but the sentence is yours. For a lot of writing that is what you want, such as notes, messages to people who know your voice, code comments, or anything where an AI paraphrase would be wrong.
Neither approach is better in general. If you mostly dictate first drafts and want them tidied, Typeless saves you an editing pass. If you dictate things that have to say exactly what you meant, rewriting is a risk you then have to read for.
Privacy
Typeless processes your audio, along with some context such as which app you are in and relevant text on screen, on its cloud servers. Its privacy policy says that data is processed in real time and discarded once the result comes back, with nothing stored unless you turn on history cloud sync. The policy also says it may share data with third-party AI providers to deliver certain features. Your dictation history is stored on your device.
SpeechBee processes your voice on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Audio stays in memory, is never uploaded, and is never recorded. Text you select for Read Aloud never leaves the device either. That holds whether you are online or not.
Price
Typeless Pro is $144 a year on annual billing or $360 a year if you pay monthly. The free plan has a weekly word limit and standard accuracy. SpeechBee is $79 a year, $9 a month, or $99 once for lifetime access, and every plan covers your Mac, iPhone and iPad with every feature. Over three years, Typeless Pro on annual billing costs $432. SpeechBee Lifetime costs $99.
What SpeechBee does that Typeless does not
Hi Maya, I'll send the revised proposal tomorrow morning.

Most people read faster than they speak. SpeechBee reads the sentence you selected out loud, while you keep working.

Read Aloud is the big one. Select text in any Mac app and press your reading key, and a natural voice reads it to you. It is a quick way to proofread what you just dictated. On iPhone and iPad you paste text into the Read tab.
SpeechBee also has snippets, so saying "my address" or "booking link" types the full text, and it works on a plane.
What Typeless does that SpeechBee does not
Translation as you speak, voice editing of selected text, answers about text you highlight, per-app tones, Linux, Windows and Android apps, and team billing with enterprise controls. If any of those is the reason you dictate, Typeless is the better app for you.
