What the free plan really gets you
Basic is a real free plan, not a trial. Dictation is unlimited; the catch is the model. Free users get Frontier Mini, which Willow itself describes as its weaker speech-to-text model, while paid plans use Frontier Pro, which it describes as faster and more accurate. You also get 20 uses a week of Scribe, Willow's feature that writes text from what you say you want, rather than transcribing word for word.
If the smaller model is accurate enough for your voice and vocabulary, you may never need to pay.
What Pro adds, and when it's worth it
Pro swaps in the better model, removes the Scribe limit, remembers your writing style and allows longer dictations. It is worth paying for if accuracy on the free model frustrates you, or if you use Scribe to draft messages every day.
Business is for teams that need guarantees: privacy mode enforced for everyone, so Willow keeps no data, plus SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance and admin controls.

Monthly Pro adds up to $180 a year; yearly billing saves 20%, at $144. Willow's speech processing runs in its cloud by default, so the subscription also pays for the servers that do the work.
An on-device option
SpeechBee is the app we make. Hold a key, talk, and your own words appear at the cursor in any app, with filler words removed, names fixed from your dictionary and snippets expanded. Recognition always runs on your device after a one-time download, so it works offline and your voice is never uploaded. Select text, and SpeechBee reads it aloud with a natural local voice.
It costs $9 a month, $79 a year or $99 once, with the first 7 days free, and one plan covers Mac, iPhone and iPad. It needs an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later. It has no AI writing feature like Scribe and no team plan, which Willow does.
