SpeechBee vs Wispr Flow for Mac
Local Mac dictation or a broader cloud service?
SpeechBee keeps dictation transcription on the Mac after model download. Wispr Flow sends speech to its cloud service and extends the workflow to Windows, iPhone, and Android. Start with that boundary.
Short answer
Neither product is the right answer for everyone.
Choose SpeechBee if your current job is focused Mac dictation and you want the speech-recognition path to stay on the computer.
Choose Wispr Flow if you need Windows, iPhone, or Android, cloud continuity, a free plan, shared team tools, or enterprise administration.

Workflow
Focused utility or service ecosystem.
On Mac, SpeechBee listens for a global hold or toggle shortcut, records while dictation is active, transcribes with the selected local model, and inserts finished text at the current cursor where the target accepts pasted or inserted text.
Wispr Flow covers more platforms and more jobs. Its current pricing page publishes dictation on four platforms, 100+ languages, a Notetaker, shared dictionary and snippets, centralized billing, and enterprise administration.
Privacy
Controls are useful. Architecture still matters.
Wispr says Privacy Mode stops dictation data from being used to train models, while disabling Private Cloud Sync stops audio and transcripts from being stored after processing. It also says transcription always happens in the cloud. SpeechBee keeps the speech-recognition path on the Mac after setup.
Limits
What each product gives up.
SpeechBee
Mac-only in this qualified tranche. It does not publish Windows, Android, team, or enterprise administration, and its public acquisition path is not live. Model behavior varies by language, accent, microphone, and speaking conditions.
Wispr Flow
Dictation depends on its cloud service. The local-only processing boundary is unavailable, and privacy outcomes depend on the account controls selected.
Common questions
Before you choose.
Does Wispr Flow transcribe offline?
No. Wispr's privacy page says transcription always happens in the cloud.
Does SpeechBee need the internet for dictation?
The selected speech model needs a one-time download. After that, Mac dictation transcription runs locally. Optional user-triggered Cloud BYOK text cleanup is a separate path and never receives audio.
Which product fits teams better?
Wispr Flow. Its current published plans include centralized billing and user management, shared dictionary and snippets, and enterprise security and administration.
Can I start a SpeechBee trial now?
No. This page is staged for review. Public checkout, signed distribution, and the final acquisition destination are not live.
