# VoiceInk pricing, plan by plan

VoiceInk is one of the cheapest ways to own a local dictation app for the Mac outright. You pay once, per Mac, and get lifetime updates. The three plans differ only in how many Macs you can use. Here is what each costs and what it covers.

By the SpeechBee team. Prices checked on 13 October 2026.

> ### The short answer
>
> - **Solo:** $25 once for 1 Mac.
> - **Personal:** $39 once for up to 2 Macs.
> - **Extended:** $49 once for up to 3 Macs.
> - **All plans:** lifetime updates, no subscription, a 14-day money-back guarantee, and a free trial download.

## VoiceInk plans at a glance

| | Solo | Personal | Extended |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $25 once | $39 once | $49 once |
| Macs | 1 | Up to 2 | Up to 3 |
| Lifetime updates | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Refund | 14 days | 14 days | 14 days |
| Subscription | No | No | No |

VoiceInk works only on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14.4 or later. There is also an iPhone app.

## What you get

All three plans are the same app. VoiceInk transcribes your speech on your Mac with local models, so it works offline and audio stays on the device. It types at the cursor in any app, and adds custom words, text replacements, filler-word removal and light "modes" that shape the text for different apps. Its source code is public.

The only difference between plans is the number of Macs. If you have a desk Mac and a MacBook, Personal is the obvious pick.

## Is the one-time price worth it?

For a single Mac, $25 once is hard to beat. A cloud dictation subscription such as Wispr Flow Pro costs $144 a year, so VoiceInk pays for itself in a couple of months. The trade-offs are the usual ones for an indie one-time app: support comes from a small team, and how much each future update brings is up to the developer.

**Pay once, in US dollars**

- VoiceInk Solo, 1 Mac: $25
- VoiceInk Extended, 3 Macs: $49
- SpeechBee Lifetime: $99

## When SpeechBee is the better buy

SpeechBee is the app we make, and it costs more: $99 once, $79 a year or $9 a month. What the extra buys:

- **iPhone and iPad included.** One purchase covers your Mac, iPhone and iPad, with up to 5 devices on one account. SpeechBee's iPhone app is a voice keyboard you can use in any app.
- **Read Aloud.** Select text in any Mac app and press a key, and a natural local voice reads it to you. VoiceInk does not read text aloud.
- **macOS 14.0 support,** and a dictionary and snippets that can sync privately through your iCloud.

If you only dictate on one Mac and do not need text read aloud, VoiceInk is the cheaper choice, and we say so in [VoiceInk vs SpeechBee](https://speechbee.app/compare/voiceink-vs-speechbee).

**What it costs over time** VoiceInk Solo is $25 once for one Mac. SpeechBee is $99 once for Mac, iPhone and iPad, with Read Aloud.

| App | 1 year | 2 years | 3 years |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| VoiceInk | $25 (One-time) | $25 (One-time) | $25 (One-time) |
| SpeechBee | $79 (Yearly) | $99 (One-time) | $99 (One-time) |

Cheapest published way to keep each app: monthly, yearly or a one-time license. US dollars before tax, prices checked on 13 October 2026.
