Audio you make is licensed for personal use only. Commercial voiceovers are a separate product. ## Which plan do you need? **Free** is enough if you are happy with your device's built-in voices, or listen to less than about 20,000 characters a day of AI voice. That is roughly a long article. **Lite** is the plan for most individual readers. It removes the daily limit on Lite voices and adds MP3 export and OCR, so you can listen to scanned pages and save audio for later. **Plus** and **Pro** are about voice quality. NaturalReader calls its Pro voices its highest quality. If voice realism is what you are paying for, sample them before you pay the extra $40 to $80 a year. **One year, in US dollars** - NaturalReader Pro: $159 - NaturalReader Plus: $119 - NaturalReader Lite: $79 - SpeechBee Yearly: $79 ## Monthly or yearly? Paying monthly for a year of Lite costs $166.80, more than twice the $79 yearly price. NaturalReader bills up front and renews automatically until you cancel. If you only need it for an exam season or one project, a month or two can make sense. Otherwise yearly is much cheaper. ## Refunds and cancelling When you cancel, your paid access continues to the end of the period you paid for. For Plus and Pro bought on NaturalReader's website, you can ask for a full refund within 3 days of a monthly purchase or renewal, or within 7 days for yearly plans. Refunds are not automatic or prorated. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play follow Apple's or Google's refund rules. ## Schools: EDU plans NaturalReader sells group licenses for schools, billed yearly. Lite EDU starts at $599 a year for 50 users. If you are a student, ask whether your school already has it. ## Cheaper ways to hear text on a Mac - **Speak selection, free.** Built into macOS. Turn it on in System Settings, Accessibility, Read & Speak, then select text and press Option-Esc. See [how to make your Mac read text aloud](https://speechbee.app/guides/text-to-speech-on-mac). - **SpeechBee, $79 a year or $99 once.** We make it. Select text in any Mac app, press a key, and a natural voice reads it. The voices run on your Mac, so your text never leaves it, and reading works offline. It also does dictation. It reads what you select, up to 5,000 characters at a time. It does not keep a document library, export MP3s or scan pages, which NaturalReader does. For a wider comparison, see [NaturalReader alternatives for Mac](https://speechbee.app/compare/naturalreader-alternatives). ## Questions ### Is NaturalReader free? Yes, there is a free plan.
